Beyond Logistics: Darcica's Journey to Achieving Business Superhero Status
In the competitive landscape of logistics, Darcica Logistics emerges as a superheroic force for sustainability and growth, thanks to the support of OxLEP Business.
The story begins when Darcica Logistics, a family-owned organisation founded in Oxfordshire in 2020, sought to maximise its impact in the logistics industry. This quest led them to OxLEP Business, where they discovered the free Business Support Tool. This tool became their compass, guiding them to a range of opportunities and support, setting the stage for a transformative partnership.
Darcica Logistics were awarded funding from the Business Investment Fund for their ‘Greening Logistics’ project – this funding enabled the acquisition of a pallet wrap machine, boosting efficiency and productivity while aligning with their commitment to sustainability. In addition, as part of the Innovation Support for Business programme, they also received one-to-one support from an innovation advisor which helped them to focus on building their business vision for the next five years.
The eScalate programme, which included the Women in Business event, further helped Darcica Logistics’ ambition. Connecting with other businesspeople and delving into business support webinars expanded their horizons and kept them up to date with the ever-changing business landscape.
The Impact:
The collaboration succeeded as Darcica Logistics scaled up, creating 25 new jobs in Oxfordshire over the past two years. The culmination of their dedication to sustainability came when they were crowned ‘Most impactful new product or service organisation’ at OxLEP’s Business Celebration Event in June 2023.
Supported by OxLEP Business, Darcica Logistics continues its journey toward sustainability. They have already adopted electric vehicles, and are in discussion with the Low Carbon Hub to create a Sustainability Action Plan, revealing their commitment to a greener future.
Darcica Logistics, now an advocate for sustainability, welcomes new businesses into its fold. The ripple effect of their superheroic impact spreads, with OxLEP Business standing as the catalyst for such transformations.
