OxLEP has today (6 November) announced the return of its hit business podcast, OxTalks, for a second series.
Hosted by seasoned broadcaster Howard Bentham, OxTalks aims to answer some of the biggest questions in business – from efficiency levels to staff motivation – to support and nurture business growth in Oxfordshire.
As the Local Enterprise Partnership for Oxfordshire, OxLEP’s role is to champion the county’s economic potential, acting as the driving force to create a dynamic, sustainable, and growing place to live, work and enjoy.
Supporting OxLEP’s ambitions and helping local organisations to take their business to the next level, the second series of the podcast will be sponsored by leading national law firm Mills & Reeve.
Following the opening of their latest UK office in Oxford in 2022, Mills & Reeve is committed to driving the growth of Oxfordshire’s leading innovation economy. Their initial projects in the county have focused on sectors including education, life sciences, real estate investment, private wealth and technology.
Both organisations are actively involved in some of Oxfordshire’s most exciting and impactful projects, with recent notable work including the Oxford North innovation district – one of the most significant developments to be approved in Oxford in recent years – positioning them at the heart of the local community.
Series one of OxTalks, launched earlier this year, featured a range of key industry figures, including CEO of Blenheim Palace, Dominic Hare, the UK Atomic Energy Authority’s Chief Technology Officer, Tim Bestwick, and Founder and Managing Director of sustainable events company Legacy, Abena Fairweather.
Upcoming guests on series two are anticipated to share their insights and tips for tackling key business challenges, with topics including building a personal brand, social entrepreneurship and becoming a successful leader.
The first episode (launched today) will feature Chief Executive of Bicester Motion and Bicester Heritage, Dan Geoghegan. You can watch it below:
On the return of OxTalks, OxLEP Chief Executive Nigel Tipple, commented: “Following a highly successful first series of OxTalks, we’re delighted to bring the podcast back for a second series with support from our sponsors Mills & Reeve.
“Welcoming high-profile guests from Oxfordshire, OxTalks offers a unique insight into the key challenges and opportunities for businesses in the county and beyond. Our local business landscape is facing a range of challenges in the current economic climate, and the podcast gives us a platform to be able to offer business support and share invaluable knowledge.
“We are grateful for support from Mills & Reeve to enable us to continue having these important conversations, and to encourage collaboration between local businesses to solve key challenges.”
Mills & Reeve’s Oxford Head of Office, Peter McLintock, added: “We’re delighted to be supporting OxTalks’ ambition to nurture businesses and growth across the region. We’re committed to keeping local work, local; supporting the community and behaving as responsible business.”
